The Birth of Evelyn Hill Cycling

Not every woman in her mid-sixties decides to start a women specific cycling line, but this one did. Hi there, I'm Barbara, the owner of Evelyn Hill Cycling. So, what inspired me to do such a crazy thing? Frankly, I was just tired of the same old super basic tight jerseys and shorts that accented every bulge and bump on my body. With thousands of cycling miles and years of light weight training and stretching, I was no slouch, but my body didn't need Lycra to make it look worse!

My husband and son convinced me that I knew what the average woman was searching for in cycling apparel. Our son, Jed had the factory contacts, and a team of a graphic artist and world class cycling photographer. My husband put up the funds from Tandem East, our other cycling business. Poof, like magic Evelyn Hill Cycling was born out of necessity. It wasn't quite that easy but that's how we got here. 

Welcome to the redesigned Evelyn Hill Cycling website!  We are celebrating ten years in business with a new online look and some great new styles.

We still specialize in colorful women-specific jerseys, shorts and bibs.

This year we have added a new line of sleeveless jerseys, arm warmers, a new jacket, and leggings and knickers for when the weather gets chilly.

Looking for female friends to ride with? We have a great women’s cycling club that rides Monday and Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. from our warehouse in Rosenhayn, New Jersey.

Our short EZ Monday ride is perfect for beginners or those looking to ease back into cycling.  Thursday’s ride is typically about 12-15 miles and Saturday is 20-30 miles, often with a stop at a favorite coffee shop.

In May, the club hosted our third She-Bikes, a charity ride through rural southern New Jersey that benefits our local women's shelter for survivors of domestic abuse. 

It's a great feeling to ride your bike with women of all ages on scenic, rural roads with little traffic.
